the bright side of lockdown

A drab winter lockdown stuck indoors with minimal income, workshops closed and supply chains disrupted presented many challenges. I sought to bring light, colour and optimism to my home, with a growing lighting collection made from found objects, materials already on hand or easily accessed within the community.
I see the making of these lamps as not just representative of my own creative spirit that sought to keep me ok, but also representing a snippet of the resourcefulness, creativity, resilience and community spirit seen more widely in response to the pandemic.
